Neuromodulators, like Botox, are injections that have been used to improve headaches and migraines.  However, patients found that these treatments improved the lines and wrinkles in their face and so now have been used in nonsurgical cosmetic procedures.

In 2002, the FDA approved Botox for use in smoothing moderate to severe wrinkles and fine lines.  Today, there are several neuromodulators on the market, including Botox, Jeuveau, Dysport and Xeomin.

Neuromodulators are injected into the facial muscles with a very fine needle.  The Botox will ease muscle contraction and smoothing facial lines.  It is recommended that people start using neuromodulators in their 20-30s in order to avoid deep lines later in life.

Neuromodulators usually are completely effective 14 days after injection.  Its effects typically last 2-3 months depending on the patient and the amount of product is used.

Sites that can be treated with neuromodulators are brow lines, forehead, crows feet.  Also, chin, lip and jawline can be specially treated with neuromodulators.

People who get injections would need to avoid lying down for 4 hours immediately after treatment.  Do not massage the area or work up or do activities that cause facial flushing  (fascial, tanning, exercising and/or alcohol consumption).

At Plumeria Wellness LLC, we provide neuromodulators Jeuveau and Xeomin.  Please consult with our injector to determine the best plan of care for your lines and wrinkles.
